Visnja (Vicky) Zegarac is the primary designer of Howard Beach House. She has guided us through everything from floor layout, tile selection, kitchen layout, colors, furniture and towels to lighting and building materials.
Vicky is originally from Montenegro, spends most of her time in Toronto and is occasionally in South Florida. Her ‘day job’ is with Pottery Barn where she is an award winning designer working out of the Toronto-Yorkdale store. When she isn’t doing designs for business magnates and hockey and basketball stars, she works with ‘average Joe’s’ (like us). She has an incredible eye for colors and how things fit together.
She knows how to get the best designs for the best value. We selected the bathroom vanities and I was shocked to find out that the ‘all in’ cost (vanity, marble top, sink) was about $3500 each. Vicky found the versions without the tops at Home Depot (on sale), organized a local countertop guy to make the tops out of a better quality quartz (he also supplied the sinks as well). The total cost was reduced to about 1/3rd and they looked better…wow!!
The reason this place is so stunning is 3 reasons; the Vicky, Vicky and Vicky (with the beach and the sun playing supporting roles).
